REPORT ON FIRE EXTINGUISHER
DEMONSTRATION SESSION

Background
Ensuring safety and preparedness in times of emergency is an integral part of student and staff training at Don Bosco institutions. In line with this, Don Bosco Yuva Kendra (DBYK) organized a special demonstration session on fire safety and the proper use of fire extinguishers after the morning break on 12th August 2025.
Objective
The main objectives of the session were:
- To create awareness about fire safety measures among students and staff.
- To provide practical knowledge on how to handle and operate fire extinguishers.
- To equip participants with basic emergency response skills in case of fire outbreaks.
Details of the Session
The session was conducted in front of the Don Bosco Statue with the active participation of both students and staff from DBYK and DB Tech. The resource person explained the following key aspects:
- Types of fire extinguishers and their specific purposes.
- Step-by-step procedure for operating a fire extinguisher safely and effectively.
- Precautions to be taken during a fire emergency.
After the explanation, a 15-minute practical session was held. Selected students were invited to participate in hands-on training, where they were guided to operate the extinguisher themselves. This interactive element not only reinforced the learning but also helped build confidence in handling emergency equipment.
