REPORT ON FLAG HOISTING, INDEPENDENCE DAY &
FRESHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

On 14th August 2025, Don Bosco Yuva Kendra (DBYK) and DB Tech joyfully celebrated Independence Day combined with Fresher’s Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The celebration began with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony held in front of the Don Bosco Statue, coordinated by Mr. Ranjit, the DB Tech staff. The chief guest, Rev. Fr. Sanjay, hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. After the flag hoisting, Ms. Mehath, a DB Tech student, delivered an inspiring speech on Independence Day, highlighting the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the role of today’s youth in building the nation. This was followed by a patriotic song sung by a Fashion Designing student, which added a heartfelt note to the occasion and set the tone of pride and patriotism.
Following the flag hoisting ceremony, the Fresher’s Day and Independence Day Cultural Programme commenced at 9:30 am in the Assembly Area. Despite the fact that it was raining the whole day, a good number of students turned up for the cultural program, which highlighted their dedication and patriotic spirit. The program began with a prayer and lighting of the lamp, invoking God’s blessings for the day. A variety of cultural performances followed, reflecting both patriotism and youthful enthusiasm. The programme unfolded in the following sequence:

- Patriotic Speech by DB Tech student

- Skit by Office Management students

- Conclusion with the Hymn to Don Bosco
The backdrop for the celebration was creatively prepared by Ms. Punam & Co., adding grace, beauty, and colour to the event.
As a token of joy and togetherness, sweets were distributed to all the students and staff. The program concluded with a hymn to Don Bosco, invoking his blessings on the institution and the students. After the formal program ended, the students were also given an opportunity to dance for half an hour, which added to the festive joy and created an atmosphere of unity and celebration.
The event witnessed the wholehearted participation of students from DBYK and DB Tech, who showcased their talents and spirit through their performances and active involvement. The entire day’s celebration was well organized by the Coordinating Committee members—Mrs. Ricky, Mrs. Deepu, and Mrs. Himanisuri. Their dedication, along with the support of staff and students, ensured the success of the program.
The celebration was truly a blend of patriotism, gratitude, youthful joy, and Salesian family spirit, leaving everyone enriched, inspired, and united in the values of Don Bosco.
